Whether you exercise for health and recreation or you’re a professional athlete, GPSC treats your sports-related injuries with the same high level of care, compassion and surgical expertise. We want you to recover your full motion, mobility and strength as safely and quickly as possible so you can get back to the sports you love.
At GPSC, our sports medicine physicians work with athletes of all ages. After careful assessment, your doctor will determine the most appropriate and proven treatment for your injury, based on your age and the condition of your health.
When possible, we use arthroscopy. This type of surgery is preferred for many sports surgeries because it is performed through much smaller incisions than those used with traditional surgical approaches. When your surgery is performed using one of our leading-edge techniques, you can generally expect a faster recovery, less postoperative pain and a smaller scar.
Pre-arranged post operative care:
The day before your scheduled appointment, we will confirm that everything you’re going to need during and after your procedure is in place. If needed, we will coordinate with your surgeon’s office and physical therapist so you don’t have to worry about anything but arriving on time and recovering.
Rehabilitation is an important part of the process, so in addition to surgery, your surgeon will work with you to develop a physical therapy program for long lasting results.
